from a hollywood point of view, this story keeps getting better and better. forget the upcoming madoff biopic - i'm talking about a dark, twisted business/crime drama. too bad it's a true story, and therefore probably too legally dangerous to make such a movie.

When Frank McCourt was in a high school basement room in Durham signing a mountain of books (I was helping carry them) before his reading for the Regulator, the pompous principal walked in and grandly introduced himself, then started introducing the other school administrators. After a couple minutes McCourt cut him off, saying "in the time I've been listening to you I could have signed fifty books."
